  5. Plant-Based Foods Rich in Essential Fatty
  6. Top Vegan Supplements

Highlights and Hacks:

AVOID TRANS FATS
There are no health benefits of artificial trans fats.  FDA’s ban of trans fats went into effect on June 18, 2018, products manufactured before this date can still be distributed until January 2020, or in some cases 2021.  There are seven vegan processed “foods” that still contain trans fats.

BALANCE YOUR OMEGA FATS
The ideal ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 fats is between 1 to 1 and 4 to 1.  A diet based on fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, especially one that has an abundance of greens and includes some flax, hemp or chia seeds, supplies ample amounts of omega 3 fats without the excess of omega 6 fats.

PLANTS PROVIDE HEALTHY FATS
One heaping tablespoon of chia seeds or one level tablespoon of flax seeds can supply the entire daily requirement of omega 3 fats.
