FOOD AS MEDICINE: The Top Health Benefits Of An Alkaline Vegetarian Diet

“The beauty of Food As Medicine is that the choice to heal and promote health can begin as soon as the next meal.”

Did you miss the webinar on November 20, 2021, or attended and want a replay?

Here you go!

Those who attended learned:

  1. Health Benefits of An Alkaline Plant Based Diet
  2. Health Risks and Symptoms of High Acidity
  3. Top Alkaline Foods To Eat and Acidic Foods To Avoid
  4. Lifestyle Factors That Impact The Acid-Alkaline Balance
  5. How To Measure and Test Your Body’s Acid-Alkaline (pH) Balance To Create Your Own Bio-Individual Food Plan

Highlights and Hacks:

  • Most fruits that are not ripe are acidic and can even cause stomach upset.  It’s best to eat your fruits ripe to maximize the alkalinity in the body
  • Raw green juices are a great way to alkalize the body.  Especially helpful for people with digestive issues.
  • Many people know by now that tap water is not safe to drink and so choose to drink plastic bottled water.  Be aware that unless the container is BPA free, this chemical from plastic can leech into the water, making it unsafe and acidic.  Here’s a guide to selecting water filters for the home to diminish reliance on bottled water or bottles that contain BPA.  One of my favorite sites is New Wave Enviro, which can be found at most health food stores or purchased on-line.

Everyone who registered was eligible to participate in a raffle drawing to win A Healthy Vegetarian Recipe Starter Guide with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and juice recipes.

Congratulations to our raffle winner:  Angela Ng!

*Update from the October 23, 2021,  Food As Medicine Webinar

A lively Q&A from those who attended sharing healthy lifestyle practices related to balancing hormones.  We ran out of time, so I created the attached document to respond to unanswered questions in the Zoom chat room.  Unfortunately, this was not added to last month’s blog.

Reminder:

We offer Food As Medicine webinars each month to provide education, information, inspiration, and practical tools and tips to get healthy and stay healthy with whole, minimally processed, plant-based food and appropriate lifestyle changes.  Let us know what health topics you would like us to present.

Next Webinar:

We anticipate offering more Food As Medicine webinars in 2022; dates to be announced.
